Every time Monday arrives and I'm as busy as a bee coz I have to get my work sorted and prepare for my weekly meeting on Tuesday. Yesterday was no exception so I didn't have time to write an entry. Next time I'll try and write at least a few lines. I was actually panicking last nite coz I hadn't even started to write the journal paper my supervisor wanted me to write. Luckily today he didn't even remember about it until I asked him a question related to what I was planning to write. He just said 'You're still writing the paper, rite?' and I coolly replied 'Yes' but screaming with panic inside. So I've got to get on going with it this week. When he told me that he will be away next week, I was overjoyed! This means I have 2 weeks to write the paper BUT I can't procrastinate any longer..so start writing Anisa!!
Tonite is the start of the new season of 'Wife Swap' on Channel 4 so I guess I'll be watching that. It's about 2 families who swap wives/mom for about 2 weeks and usually the families are totally opposite in terms of values and lifestyle. So quite good viewing coz it makes u question what values u would want to instill onto your children. It also makes u understand why the Brits have a problematic yob culture coz it's clear from the show that children of certain families are never thought to obey and respect their parents. I pray Shah and I will be good parents and are able to mould our children into becoming successful, respectful and obedient adults. InsyaAllah...
Well..I guess that's all for today! Time to relax...

What does love mean?
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds,
"What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.
See what you think:
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca - age 8
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy - age 6
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri- age 4
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7
"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss." Emily - age 8
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate." Nikka - age 6
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." Noelle - age 7
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I
wasn't scared anymore." Cindy - age 8
"My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." Clare - Age 6
"Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine - age 6
"Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." Chris - age 7
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4
"I let my big sister pick on me because my Mom says she only picks on me because she loves me. So I pick on my baby sister because I love her." Bethany - age 4
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." Karen - age 7
"Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6
Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four
year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard,
climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

My Eyesight...
I think I need to wear my specs permanently now coz my eyesight is getting worse. This afternoon when Shah and I went to ASDA, I had a terrible headache which I think was caused by me having to squint all the time. It's quite annoying coz I don't like wearing specs!! I guess I just have to get used to it or get some contact lenses. But for now I'll stick with the specs. I've been carrying the specs with me everywhere I go..now I just need to take them out of my bag and put them on!!
The story of Shah &
the Spiderman Water Squirter
We went to ASDA with Shamruz and Syahrin coz we needed to get some more rice. At ASDA we wanted to buy a box of Kelloggs Frosties coz Shah wanted to get a Spiderman Water Squirter. It all started last week when Shah bought a box of Kelloggs Frosties at SPAR near our house. It said on the box that there was a free Spiderman Water Squirter and Shah was so excited. So he went home and at bowls and bowls of cornflakes but by the time he got to the bottom of the pack no water squiter was insight. Poor Shah!! So I promised him we'll get one the next time we go out to buy groceries which was at TESCO yesterday. Unfortunately both of us forgot to get the cornflakes so when we went to ASDA today we were determined to get one. But Shah was let down again coz there was no Kellogs Frosties on sale and no free Spiderman Water Squirter at ASDA. Kesian kat my dearest hubby!!
Actually I've just realised that Shah tends to buy any type of cereal just so he can get the free toy included as a gift. Once he came home with a box of Kelloggs Honey Loops coz inside there was a free pencil holder in the form of a character from the TV cartoon series Creature Comforts. He still hasn't finished the box of cereal and the Creature Comfort toy has disappeared to God knows where. That's a typical example of why I call Shah a 'Big Baby'...

Motor Show pics
It's a little after 10pm and only now have I found the time to write something. This morning Shah and I went out get our weekly supply of food despite the rain. We had to coz we've ran out of chicken. After lunch, I started to scan the pictures we took when we went to The Sunday Times Motor Show in Birmingham earlier this month. At the show we finished 5 rolls of films there..taking pictures of most of the cars. Both of us really enjoyed ourselves there. We will upload the pictures onto our Online Album soon. Of all the cars that I saw there my favourites would have been the Jaguar XK8, the Mercedes McLaren SLR and the new Mini Cooper S convertible. Wish I could get at least one of those but for now it's just wishful thinking. But I do like the new VW Beetle...ohhh...if only I had the money!! However, we were quite disappointed that BMW didn't take part in this years show coz I would have wanted to see the new BMW Z4. Even Alfa Romeo wasn't there. Well, enough about that.
Shah and I are so full tonite. Both of us finished half a tray of lasagne and then had buttered sweetcorn for dessert. But what a meal it was! Now I must have to make sure I don't sleep to early coz I wont want to have a belly. That reminds me that both Shah and I need to start up some kind of exercise regime coz we're both unfit but God knows when I'll find the time to get on the exercise machine. (I am fit, she is not) That was Shah...sukalah kacau org tulis blog!!

it's officially the weekend..
Ahh, the much awaited weekend is here. Not sure what we'll be doing this weekend but I think I will have to do some work since I didn't do much for the past 2 days. I'm feeling a bit tired even though it's just 8:30pm. Probably it's because I ate too much. Didn't cook anything fancy at all, just burgers. Shah doesn't seem to mind that we eat anything that's simple to prepare during the week coz by the time we get home from work we're both too tired to cook. I wonder how it'll be once we're back home in Msia.
I mean you usually finish work at 5 or 5:30pm but we'll only arrive home at 6:30 or 7pm coz of the traffic conditions in KL. So, it'll be close to 8:30 or 9pm before food is set on the table and that's too late. Usually people in PJ/KL just buy food for dinner but I wanna prepare the food that my family eats myself. Argghhhh!!! Being a careeer woman AND a good wife/mom simultaneously is just too difficult. But I must try. I guess it also depends on the type of job you have. I'm thinking of going into lecturing so I guess it's a bit more flexible than working at a private company..well, that's what I'm hoping for. I keep saying that I wont have a maid when I start working and have children but I don't know if that's ever going to happen. Coz I'll need someone to take care of the children when I'm at work and also help with house cleaning, laundry and ironing. So I guess I will need to find a maid to help me with the housework but I'll make sure that I do all the cooking coz I believe that when ur husband and children eat food prepared by yourself, it will strengthen the bond between husband and wife, children and mom. The question remains how can u find a maid that u can trust?..

The lawn needs mowing?
Today is a boring day. I got some work to finish off but I just cant be bothered to do it. Last nite we watched the nail-biting game of England and Portugal. Both anisa and I were hoping that England would be kicked out. And our prayers were answered..... it was a good game though, good in a sense that England were not playing at all, just defending...what a crap performance. Salute to the Portuguese.
It has been boring past few days. I am waiting for our bloody noisy neighbours to move out. They have finished their exams so what are they waiting for....Get out!. But then a new group of students will be moving in. So I guess its gonna start all over again....Emm...24/06, yesterday, in exactly 3 months I will be at the end of my official PhD period. Dunno whether I can finish it on time, I hope so...Have been playing lots of Pro Evo 3 lately, since the news abt the new Pro Evo 4 to come out in October. At least something to look fwd to....of course there is the thing with completing the PhD and handing in the thesis too, but we all know which one is more important here..
Malam ni rasanya makan burger sebab malas nak masak, again. Lagipun have to finish the roti burger. Dah masuk 10 kali kot, buang roti sbb expired. Half pulak tu, mmg membazir. Lagi satu, bila nak mow lawn ni, malas betul la, rumput dah panjang sampai lutut dah ni....anisa, camana ni???? panic ni, panic...

Footie night
We're waiting for the England vs Portugal match to start. Sambil tu we will be eating dinner. We decided to order in food for tonite...biryani (1 chicken and 1 lamb) and I grilled 2 aubergines to eat with the rice. Dah lah tak pegi keje, malas masak pulak tu. Well, today is considered as a rest day for both of us.
(Berenti jap..nak gi makan)
At least I did some work today, finally wrote the code for the vector controlled M=4, N=6 pole bearingless induction motor. So tomorrow, have got to start running some simulations. There is still the journal paper to write which I have been putting off since the last meeting I had with Prof. Asher. Got to really start working on it..maybe tonite.
The football game is well underway. England has scored a goal but I'm kinda hoping Portugal would go thru coz I don't like Rooney's looks. Hahahha...Rooney has been substituted so Portugal might just win, not that I'm a Portugal fan.
I was never a fan of football but after knowing Shah I have learnt a lot about football and I quite like it now. Especially if the players are good looking..like those in the Italian team. Anyway, I think I'll stop now and go watch the footie...

Day off
Today Shah is not feeling too well so I called his office and told them that he won't be going to Derby. I also decided to stay home and keep him company but I must still try and get some work done. Luckily I brought home the code I need to modify. Now I just need to find the time to get started with work. This blogsite is really very addictive. Last night I introduced Dmat to Blogger.com so he now has a blogsite too. I think I am more interested in doing up this page more than my website. But I can't go on ignoring my website so I promise once I'm done with my PhD work I'll finish it up. For now I guess it's quite ok. It's still quite gloomy outside. No sign of the sun at all. It's quite cold too since its supposed to be summer. We're watching a Malay movie titled 'Champion'. Its quite lame. I don't want to belittle Malay movies but most of the movies that I've watched lately are so cheesy and kinda low cost. But I quite like to watch 'Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam' coz it's a Suhaimi Baba production. Come to think of it I want to watch 'Puteri Gunung Ledang' too though I don't know if it's out yet. I think those 2 Malay movies are quite good coz their not the stereotypical love story/guy-like-girl-but-family-don't-approve kinda movie. As for English movies, I think I wanna watch 'Shrek 2' (but I've not seen 'Shrek' yet) and 'Mean Girls'. The last movie I watched was 'Troy' which was quite good in an epic sense.
Well, must stop now. I'll try and write some more later today coz I want to go and spend some time with my sick 'baby'.

I can blog here too!!!!
Hi, thanks to anisa, I have the chance to write abt what I feel today. As usual, the work is boring. My supervisors are crap. I have two supervisors, one of them is OK, well, wait.....take that back, they are both crap.No feeling very well at the moment - i am supposed to go for a visit and annual meeting in Derby tomorrow but somehow I feel that I wont be to able to even get out of bed tomorrow. We'll see...
There was no sign of Tabby today, ah wait, I saw a glimpse of her this morning, walking back home at around 8 am. I have been writing a chapter all day today so I am not going to do anything tonite except watching football. Anisa is cooking as I write, but me, being a good husband, just sit on the couch and pretend that I am sick. I hope she wont find out - oh nooooooo, she already did. aku pegi masak dulu..babaiii

it's been raining cats and dogs...
The rain has stopped but earlier (around 2-3pm) it was raining cats and dogs.It was very heavy, the kind of rain u get in Msia during the monsoon season. But now after the rain, the air its fresher. Its still quite dark and gloomy outside but not as gloomy as winter here in the UK. Anyway, enough about the weather. I have been doing quite a bit of work this morning. But after lunch, I must confess I have been doing some work but also having some play. Browsing the net and chatting with Istella. Istella is my long lost pet-sis way back when I was in Assunta. But we lost touch of each other when I left for MRSM. Luckily, thanks to Friendster.com, we're reunited (She found me).
Anyway, I think I have to continue later. Shah wants to go home.

Shah can blog here too
I've just added Shah into this blogsite so now he can write what he wants here. Hi abang!!
NAIL IN THE FENCE
*Someone emailed me this story. It made me think of all the times I lashed out to the people I love when I lose my temper.*
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His
Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every
time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into
the back of the fence. The first day the boy had
driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few
weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number
of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He
discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to
drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his
temper at all. He told his father about it and the
father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail
for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The
days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell
his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to
the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but
look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never
be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave
a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a
man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times
you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there.
" A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends
are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and
encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share
words of praise and they always want to open their
hearts to us."

Late night blog
Well, it's not that late at night but I'm kinda feeling tired. I've been fiddling around with Blogger.com and I think I am getting the hang of it now. Shah has been bugging me all night. He said that I should hand in this blogsite to my supervisor instead of my PhD thesis since I've been showing more interest to this site than my PhD work. But I don't care. I can't keep working all thru the day and nite, rite? Even so, in my heart there is this annoying guilty feeling signalling that I am indeed neglecting my work. So tomorrow, I must give 100% attention to work. I am really hoping that Shah and I will be able to submit our thesis towards the end of this year, insyaAllah. Maybe then we can go on a long/well-deserved holiday. Possibly take a trip back home to Malaysia or around Europe. Till then, we will just have to stay here in Nottingham. Luckily it's summer now. We have been having excellent weather, even though it rained yesterday. More rain is forcasted for the next few days. Hopefully the coming weekend will be sunny coz Shah needs to mow the lawn and I'll just watch.
Right abang? Tak pelah..while you mow the lawn I will cook the lasagne I promised u ok, abang? It's been quite a while since I cooked lasagne for us. Can't wait for the weekend!!
I guess it's time for me to go to sleep. Got to wake up early tomorrow..so night night!!

Tabby..the cat
We're at home now (shah & I). Just started to cook dinner but still had time to drop a few lines here (while the meat patties are frying). Shah says he has been having a headache since this morning and I hope it will get better. Even though now it seems like he has forgotten about his headache coz he's busy playing Pro Evolution Soccer 3 on his PS2.
Today was just a typical working day for both of us. This morning we left for work together. Usually Shah leaves at about 7:30 am whereas I tend to have an extra 1/2 hour of sleep after shah leaves. Anyhow, this morning before walking to the University, we were visited by Tabby.
Tabby the cat
Tabby is our front neighbour's cat. She's a white tabby cat if I am not mistaken, hence the name though we don't really know what her real name is. We have been playing with Tabby for a few months now. Both of us think she must recognise us because whenever she sees us or hears our front door being opened she would quickly come towards us hoping we will play with her. Every time she comes I will make it a point to stroke her and scratch her tummy. I just can't ignore because she is SO cute.I think I've grown really attached towards Tabby. Shah always asks me how I will feel when we have to leave nottingham and won't be able to see TAbby again. Actually, I think I will be quite sad when that day comes. I just hope when Shah and I have our own place we will get a cat as friendly and sweet as Tabby.
I think I have to stop now. Got to get back to my meat patties which I think are starting to burn.

I just hope when Shah and I have our own place we will get a cat as friendly and sweet as Tabby.
I think I have to stop now. Got to get back to my meat patties which I think are starting to burn.

tried and tested....
This is my first entry and at the moment I'm still trying to get used to blogging. I've came across several blogsites but this one surely caught my eye. It's kinda interesting and has losts of templates to choose from.
Anyway, I'll keep on writing so just keep this space in mind.
