Handbag Biological Clock?

I just realised that when end of the year comes I would instinctively have this raging desire to get a new handbag. My current handbag was bought in November last year and the previous one in December 2008.  You see the pattern? It's like an alarm clock being biologically set in me. People have 'new baby biological clock' and I have 'new handbag biological clock'? Do you ladies have this too or is it just me? Anyway, to fulfill this raging desire, lately I have been surfing for new bags. And what do you know, those bags which I crave for would cost me more than an arm and a leg. I might even have to consider selling one or more of my non-vital organs. You see, the constraint now is moolah. What with the new house and other stuff. Thus, I'm not sure if I'll actually buy a bag this year. We'll just have to wait and see. If I do have extra moolah, then I might just wait till next year when the removal of import tax on handbags becomes affective.

Oh well, for now I can just dream. So, if I had all the money in the world to spend on anything I want, these would be the bags I'd get. The list is in order of cheapest to most expensive. Anyone out there kind enough to buy one for me? I might consider giving you the rights to take any of my non-vital organs, if and when you require them.

2. Gucci Sukey Medium Tote in Chocolate Guccissima Leather
(If my culculations are correct, 30% off the current price of the Sukey would be a saving of slightly more than RM 1000.)

3. Louis Vuitton Trevi PM in Damier Ebene Canvas

4. Gucci "New Jackie" Medium Shoulder Bag

Weekend Plans and Home Decoration

It's 11 pm now. Both Maisarah and her Abah are asleep. I wasn't feeling sleepy yet so I decided to get on the Net. Maisarah followed us to the office today but we were there only for half a day. We took leave today but went to the office for my class. Once I finished the lecture at 11 am, we zoomed back to PJ. We stopped for lunch at Gi*ant KJ and then reached home before 1 pm so that could go to Friday prayers. Maisarah and I watched her favourite purple dinosour VCD and then Kungfu Panda. Less then 15 minutes into the movie, we fell asleep. We didn't even realize Shah coming home from prayers. Anyway, the rest of the day was spent lazing around the house.

Tomorrow we're planning to go out to one of the shopping malls (either O*U or The Cur*ve). It's been awhile since we went to the mall together. Not sure what we're gonna do there. Probably just walk around and then have lunch. On Sunday, Shah has to go meet a friend so maybe Maisarah and I will go out with my sister. We're planning to go to Ikea* since it's been ages since I've been there. I just love to look at the furniture and home accessories there while imagining how I'll decorate my future house but Shah is not too keen on furniture window-shopping. So, this will be the chance for me to head there. Plus, I'm longing for the Sweedish Meatballs.

Anyway, talking about home decor. Have I ever mentioned that sometimes before I sleep at night I will imagine how I will decorate our the house that we have bought? I can't wait to decorate our house once we get the keys and I have lots of ideas on how I will decorate each and every room. Since I was in the UK, i love to watch home decor shows and I always bought book and magazines related to home decor. And some times, when I'm bored with my PhD work, I would browse the Net for home decor pictures and save those that I like. So I can't wait to put all the things I learned from the TV shows, books and magazines into practise.

The first place I'm going to decorate is the kitchen. I'm torn between having an English country kitchen with all the wood cabinets and flowers or a modern contemporary kitchen with a marble or granite table top and stainless steel back splash. What I'm sure of is that I want a kitchen cabinet made of wood with built-in microwave and electric oven. My ideal kitchen would have a cooker placed on top of an island in the middle of the kitchen but that would not happen as the kitchen in our future house is not that big. But I'll definitely try to put in a breakfast bar. I also want a big fridge and am dreaming of having one with twin-doors but that would cost us a bomb. As it is, my dream kitchen cabinet may have already cost us an arm.

The next room that I like to imagine decorating is our bedroom. Our future bedroom in the house is huge! Well, huge for a terrace house anyway. There is even a sort of "walk-in closet" leading to the bathroom. So I am so going to have fun shopping for our wardrobes. I would love to have full wall-to-wall wardrobes with lots of hanging space and drawers. I also secretly would like to have a floor-to-ceiling shoe cabinet like what Carrie had Mr Big make in the SATC movie but my mom says that is not for us Asians since we dont wear our shoes in the house. So, I've got to find some where in the house where I can have a big shoe cabinet since I am a shoe addict and I want a nice home for all my shoes where thay can be displayed beautifully and not be put in boxes and cramped under the staircase any longer. As for the bed, we have decided that it should be King sized. And I am secretly hoping for an iron four-poster bed but a wood-framed bed is okay too. And I think there will be enough space in the room to place a day bed so that is Maisarah falls sick she can sleep with us in the room.

Well, I think that's enough for now. I'll write more on my dreams for our future house decor next time. I've got to go to bed and tonight while I lay in bed waiting to fall asleep, I'll imagine how I'm going to decorate the living room and upstairs family area. Sweet dreams!

I want a holiday..but I can't!!

I'm in dire need of so rest and TLC. Next week will be the mid-semester break for our Uni. And initially I was gleefully planning to take a few days off early in the week and just rest with Shah. But alas, my dreams will not materialize. Shah has to be in the office the whole of next week and there's no point for me to be on leave alone. What will I do? Where will I go? So, I didn't sbmit my leave form and my boss will be away from tomorrow. Suffice to say there's no chance of me ever getting my holiday. After next week I'll be bogged down with classes until early November. Then it'll be exam week and I'll be in the last few weeks of my pregnancy. Oh well, I'll just have to accept the fact that i'll never have a holiday until after the baby arrives (more like after my confiment period).

Gosh! It's already 9:10 pm and I've got to be at the duty post at 9:30 pm. So I guess that's all for today. Tata....

A girl needs all the TLC she can get

I was blog-hopping earlier this evening and one of my friends blogged about her recent massage session. That got me thinking of the regular urut session that I have with the makcik urut at my mum's place. It's been ages since I got a total body massage and my body has been sending me numerous signals indicating that it needs some tender (ironic since the urut sessions always leave me aching all over) loving care. I'm hoping I can get the makcik to come over soon or else my body will stiffen up even more. I guess once you've started receiving body masages you can't survive without it.

Another TLC session that I am in dire need of is a good facial. I need to bust out those black and white heads from my pores and get a luxuriously cooling mask slathered on my face. I've been eyeing one of those all-in-one sessions available at the Cyb*rview Lodge Resort and Spa. It involves a bath, scrub, facial and body massage. The session lasts for almost 4 hours and costs almost 500 bucks but it should be worth it. I just need to find the right time to go there. Even my husband said I should treat myself to one of those sessions.

Well, I guess I should stop thinking and start booking that session. But if any of you out there can recommend any other spas or sessions then do let me know ok?

P/S: Why do all these beneficial TLC sessions for a girls body involve lots of pain?

The visit

It's the eve of Chinese New Year. Shah and I (well more me than Shah) spent today cleaning up the house and making it presentable for the visit tomorrow. The visit from my in-laws. It'll be their first time spending the night at our house since we got back from the UK (1 year plus ago). I just want every thing to be nice and cozy. Most importantly clean and tidy when they arrive.

This morning, as usual, we headed for Al*manda for breakfast. On they way there, we passed a traffic light and Shah said he saw his brother's car stopping at the light. He asked to if their car plate number was W*H 140 and I said yes. So, we immediately knew that they were also heading for Al*manda. They even tailed us all the way there. We even parked the cars beside each other. Breakfast was roti canai with lamb curry as always. it was fun watching Sofea (Shah's niece) eating her roti telur and then watching her run around the food court once she was done eating. I can't wait to have one of my own. (Sigh)

We parted ways after breakfast. Shah's brother, wife and Sofea headed towards Carr*four while Shah and I went to A*ssino. I needed to get some single-sized bedsheets for Shah's parents visit. Then, we went to Carr*four where we bought some pillows and food. I then bought a VCD of "The Devil wears Prada" which I watched the moment we got home. I really loved the clothes, shoes and handbags in the movie. Oh how I wish my office has a room full of designer items for me to pick and choose as I wish, anyday. Just like what Stanley Tucci did for Anne Hathaway in the movie. God, how I wish I have millions of dollars to splurge on bags, shoes, clothes and more.
Oh well, enough daydreaming. I've got to get back to sprucing up the house for Shah's parents visit. Toddleloo....

P/S: I managed to transfer my classic template to the new blogger template with widget features. I've always wanted to have my archives presented in a collapsible list which is available as a widget in the new blogger template but I also wanted to maintain the same rainbow and teddy theme. Now I have them both. I'm so happy!
