I'm 25 today!!

I was born at Assunta Hospital, Petaling Jaya, Selangor at around 6pm 25 years ago. I wasn't hoping for anything special today but Shah really surprised me this evening when I came home from work. He got me a new Digital IXUS 40 camera and a sweet little cudly cat soft toy called Maggie.

We also went out to dinner at New Ocean City which I really loved. They have a good buffet of Chinese food and it was delicious even though we only could eat the vegetarian and seafood dishes. I will cetainly remember this birthday coz it has been the best celebration so far. That's why I'm sooo lucky to have Shah as my husband. He's the greatest and I will always treasure everything he has done for me.

Since I now have the camera which I have wanted for months, I can start taking pictures. Unfortunately I can't think of what to take. Even so we've started a photoblog at Fotopages which I am currently trying to expand. But not to worry, I'll certainly keep this blog going.

Christmas time..sale time

The christmas holidays are coming and I can't wait to get some rest. Even so, at the back of my mind is the thought of my phd write up and how I will have to get more writing done by the end of this year. However, I can't help but feel like I want to rest coz my birthday is coming (this Tuesday in fact) and I want to have some rest from my hectic daily schedule. And as usual, come christmas mean the start of the winter sale. I don't know if I'll be able to shop as much as I want to but I'm hoping I can get a few things. Mostly things that I want to bring back to Msia. There's so much that I want but I'll have to control myself. Don't want to go overboard with shopping.

I've been reading the news and it seems that certain places in the UK might just have a white christmas. I hope Nottingham will get some snow so that I can have one last winter in the snow. I can still remember one winter many years back when the fields in Nottingham Uni were covered in a few cm's of snow and everywhere was white. Shah and I went out early in the morning so that we could take pictures of the white snow before it was walked on by everyone and it became dirty. I wish it would happen again...

Today,17 December 2004, was the day that my husband became a Doctor in Mechanical Engineering! I'm so very grateful to Allah that our prayers have been fulfilled. Alhamdulillah, Shah's viva went smoothly and after 2hrs and 45mins of discussions he passed his PhD. I'm so very happy and proud of my husband's achievement. My birthday is in 4 days time and this surely is the best present ever.

Now that Shah has passed this hurdle, I'm hoping I'll be able to pass mine soon. I've got to finish it before April in order for us both be able to attend the graduation ceremony in July. If everything goes as plan, insyaAllah, then the graduation ceremony will be one of the best moments in our lives! Wish us luck and pray that everything goes well, ok?
