Nine Going on Ten

Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah, for today, nine years ago Shah and I got married in London. I am very grateful to Allah for making Shah and I cross paths and joining us in marriage. I am blessed to have a loving and caring husband. I know I have lots of shortcomings as a wife to Shah but I aim to improve myself for the sake of our marriage. I pray that our marriage will continue to be blessed by Allah and we will be able to get through all trials and tribulations that come our way, insyaAllah.

I wanted to plan something special this year but both Shah and I can't find the time to be away so I'll keep the big plans for our tenth anniversary next year. We don't usually buy any anniversary presents but according to the Western tradition of anniversary gifts, apparently on the ninth year the traditional gift would be pottery or willow and the modern gift would be leather. So can you get me a new leather handbag Abang?

A Sucker for Lovey Dovey Chick Flicks

I always cry when watching lovey dovey chick flicks and last night I watched 'Leap Year' featuring Amy Adams and handsome Matthew Goode. Basdd on an Irish tradition, a girl can propose marriage to a guy on Leap Day of the Leap Year. So that is the basis of the story with Amy Adams as the girl and Adam Scott as the boyfriend. But the girl had bad luck Nd her travels to Dublin from US was laden with mishaps and bad luck. So she had to rely on an Irish guy played by Matthew to get her to Dublin. And as can be predicted, she falls for Matthew's character.

Anyway, there a quote from the movie, said by a birde to her groom, which I like and want to keep it here for my memories:

May you never steal, lie or cheat.
But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows.
And if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life.
And if you must cheat, then please cheat death, because I couldn’t live a day without you.

And I that is so lovely to hear if it were said to you from your lover.

Honda Malaysia - do you need a proof reader?

Ok, we're early as usual and waiting for the service centre to open. To pass time, I reached for the service booklet and realised some thing was not right about the cover. Can you see it? I'm 'lost' for words.

My Little Ballerina

It's been some time since I've given an update on Maisarah. Her latest favourite show is Angelina Ballerina. She watches it every morning and during the day she will be dancing around like a ballerina. Lately she has also started to watch Barbie movies. Maisarah is definitely a girly girl. I posted a photo of her last week wearing sunglasses, carrying her red handbag and posing like a model. She won't go out unless she brings her handbag along. In her bag, she has her sunglasses and Disney Princess compact powder. Some times she will whip out the compact powder and pretend to wear makeup. She knows that eye shadow is placed on the eyelids, eye brow pencil is used on the eye brow and foundation used all over the face.

Maisarah also likes to tiptoe around the house, imagining that she is wearing high heels. She will also model for you if you ask her too with different poses. Every night, she will go up to my sister's room to play dress up; wearing necklaces and bangles. I know both of us will have lots of fun going shopping together when she is bigger. Even now, at three years old, we love going to shops together trying shoes and clothes in the changing room. I hope we will have a strong bond together even when she has grown up and have kids of her own.

First Taste of Macaroons

Ok, I have to admit that I didn't know what macaroons were until Maryam posted about them on her blog. Then, I kept reading online that the macaroons at Whisk, Empire Shopping Gallery are delicious. So, last Saturday when we were at Empire, I persuaded Shah to drop by Whisk. We got 10 assorted macaroons and two slices of their Red Velvet Cake to share between Shah, my sister, her hubby, Maisarah and I.

Maisarah loved the macaroons. I think she ate almost half of the plate. I have to admit the macaroons were tasty but too sweet. I mean I have a sweet tooth but after eating two peices I felt like I may have gotten diabetes.
I can't say that the macaroons are the best because I have never tasted any before. But my sister did mention that the macaroons at Whisk was sticky when the first bite was taken compared to those she had in Paris. The Red Velvet Cake on the other hand was lovely. The icing was not too sweet but the colouring did scare us because after eating half a slice our tongue was red. It even got Maisarah's teeth to turn red!

After eating the cake, my sister and I decided that our next baking session would be to make red velvet cupcakes. As for macaroons, I don't think I'm brave enough to try making them. Not just yet.
