Long time no see..
Long time no see this blog...
I've been busy as a bee and have been neglecting this blog for far too long. So I've decided to put in a short post. My work is going along quite well. Although I need to put in more effort to make sure I finish on time. Even so last Bank holiday weekend (30 Apr - 2 May) was a good one. On Saturday (30 Apr), we went to a BBQ held by the Nottingham Malaysian Society for leavers. We're officially leavers this year coz come September we'll no longer be in the UK. It's sad to think that we have to leave (well I feel kind of sad anyway) but it's also happy that we'll be able to head home to start a new life. Anyway, I digress. The BBQ started off late coz of the rainy weather that Saturday morning but by around 12pm the weather started to pick up. We had fun meeting friends. Then later that day we went around the Uni for a walk and snapped lots of pictures. The weather was superb and we had lots of fun. We went walking to the Millennium Garden at the Uni which both of us never knew of its existence. The garden was beautiful and the flowers, mostly tulips, were blooming beautifully.
On Monday (2 May) we headed to Wollaton Park. It was our first ever visit to the park after many many years of being in Nottingham. Even though the weather forecast for that day was rainy, the day was beautiful with no rain in sight, just warm sun. So we had a fun day walking around the park and visiting Wollaton Hall. As usual, lots of pictures were taken of our walk, some of which we've posted here. But we got caught in heavy rain, which came suddenly, during our walk back home and unlucky for us we didn't bring an umbrella. I guess the weather forecast was right after all.
Anyway, Wollaton Hall is one of UK's stately homes built in the 16th Century. Currently it is a natural history museum with lots of displays on animals. There is even a section on taxidermy with lots of stuffed animals. We saw a full sized stuffed giraffe in one of the rooms. One of the sections in the museum is dedicated to insects and there we found a poster on bees. Apparently, Shah's nickname 'Apis' is Latin for 'bee'. Don't believe me? See the pic posted below. So unconciously when I named this blog 'a bee's thoughts' and chose the URL 'abumblebee.blogspot.com', I was thinking of my 'Apis'.
