All Work and No Play

Our university is in the process of changing the dates of the semester. So usually, this time of the year we will be on a long break until July. But due to the change, classes will resume in May. Just 1 month after the end of last semester. And classes will run non-stop until August before the next semester starts in September. That means, Shah and I will have no time to take a break.

We thought that we could go back to Perlis this month but there are lots of meetings next week. So no chance! We don't think we'll be doing anything special for the long weekend which will be so boring. Need to find some thing to do that will be fun. Do you have any ideas?

If there is nothing fun to do, then we will just stay home and play. Maisarah and I always play cake baking and decorating on the ipad. These are some of Maisarah's creations. She is getting better at decorating. Then Mommy has to eat them. Luckily they wont add any inches to my waistline.

Sunday Routine

Every Sunday at my mom's house, we normally have an individual mengaji session with an Ustaz followed by a tazkirah session. At least this forces ,e to spend some time for spiritual activities and not just concentrating on worldly issues. But once in a week is surely not enough. I need to read the Quran more often.

After the tazkirah, we will have breakfast and then either laze at home waiting for my dad to cook lunch. Or we go out and come home just in time for lunch. Hehe, I know I should cook during the weekends but my dad just loves to cook so we let him do it. Then, I will make sure Maisarah has her afternoon nap and most of the time mommy will nap too. In the evening we will go to Giant to buy or weekly necessities.

Today, however, we all went out for lunch at Coliseum, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. It's been ages since we've eaten there. The food was tasty but the atmosphere was very nostalgic. The whole restaurant hasn't changed. Inside it felt like we were living in the fifties or even earlier. They stil retained the old interior and fixtures. Definitely a historical restaurant.

Ok, got to go and see what Maisarah and Shah are laughing about in the room. BTW, I opted for Maxis iPad data plan. So, now I'm always connected to the net.

P/S: i managed to fix the problem with blogpress.

Random: AI and Broadband Plans

Ok, i must confess that i love watching American Idol but I haven't been really watching it for the past few seasons. This season though I have been following the show since it started. And guess what, my little one is also following American Idol. She knows all the contestants and she knows that Thursday and Friday are AI nights.

Anyway, I am blogging while watching this weeks elimination. But I already got to know from Maisarah that Paul McDonald was voted out. He was one of my favourites apart from James Durban and Lauren Alaina. I like Paul because of he likes to smile and he looks like a happy go lucky guy.

On another note, I am considering of getting a mobile broadband plan so that I can use it on my ipad. I need to choose between digi, celcom and maxis. Shah is using maxis and so far we have no qualms on maxis. But their ipad data plan is too expensive for me. I'm seriously considering digi. But I'm a bit concerned on their coverage. Do you have any suggestions?

Disney on Ice 2011 - Worlds of Fantasy

As I blogged before, we bought tickets for Disney on Ice 2011 (DoI) last year, in December. We knew Maisarah would love it because this time there would be characters from Cars, Little Mermaid, Lion King and Tinkerbell. Anyway, we went for the Saturday matinee show as we did last year. And as last year, the show was packed with parents bringing their kids.

See Maisarah's face just before the show started. She really enjoyed the show and commented about the characters non-stop to Shah throughout the show.

The show started with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy welcoming everyone. Then came Lightning McQueen, Sally and Mater.

Then came Maisarah's second favourite character of DoI 2011 - Ariel the Little Mermaid  accompanied by Flounder and Sebastian. Maisarah was sad to know that Ariel traded her voice for legs from Ursula the witch. But happy to see Ariel gain her voice back when the Prince kissed her.

Mommy's favourite of the show came next which was Lion King. I was delighted they sang 'Hakuna Matata' and I got to introduce Timoun and Pumba to Maisarah.

The scene when Simba was announced as the new Lion King was so beautiful because there were lots of  animals such as zebras, giraffes, ostrich and cheetahs.

Finally, after intermission came Maisarah's favourite character - Tinkerbell. She loved watching Tinkerbell skating with her fairy friends. And the final scene of spring emerging in the forest was the most colourful and most beautiful scene in DoI 2011.

Of course, before the show ended, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy came back to thank everyone for coming and saying goodbye.

All in all, DoI 2011 was great but shorter in length and had less characters compared to DoI 2010. Even so, Maisarah and Mommy enjoyed it. Maybe Mommy enjoyed it more? (grins sheepishly)
