Stuff I Did Last Week

Ok, I'm on a roll now with two posts in a night after a long hiatus. Any how, I am killing time waiting for my face mask to dry. I've been trying to make a routine of putting on my face mask once a week but not since last month because little Princess has banned me from putting on the mask. Why? Because she is afraid of how I look when I have it on. So, now I only get to pamper my face when Maisarah is asleep.

Well, back to what I intended to blog on. Last week, my best friends for life from MR*SM (Mrs J, Mrs N,Mrs R) and I had a very very long lunch together. The last time I met Mrs J and Mrs N was three months ago but I haven't met Mrs R for almost a year. It was such a great lunch. We sat down for lunch at Ale*xis, the Gardens, at 12 pm and we left the restaurant three hours later. We reminisced on our old days in school and caught up on each others lives. We didn't even realise the time. Even though its been 14 years since we all lived together under one roof we still got along like it was just yesterday. I'm hoping we can meet up again more often.

Then last Sunday, Shah and I decided to make homemade pizza for lunch. Well, we cheated by buying ready made pizza base but everything else was put together with love by our own hands. We thought that this was a good oppourtunity to get Maisarah involved in the cooking process. So, I prepared all the ingredients (tomato paste, beef and chicken pepparoni, sliced button mushrooms, sweet corn, capsicum, onions and pineapple). Then we had Maisarah help us assemble all the ingredients onto the pizza base which was then topped with lots of grated mozzarella cheese. She was very excited doing the cooking. When it was all baked, she was very happy to eat the pizza. She even told every one that she made it. It was great having her involved in cooking. Maybe next time I'll bake with her. Some chocolate chip cookies perhaps. The picture is one of the four pizzas Maisarah baked that day.

I'm not sure what we're going to do this weekend so we'll wait and see. If any thing interesting happens, I might just put a post here.

Project "Our Hive": Colours Brighten Up Our Home

Thousand apologies for not writing here for ages. These past few months I have been bogged down with work while finding time to settle our home renovations. Speaking of home, I just realised that the last time I jotted down our progress here was more than 3 months ago. At that time we had just finished all construction and wiring works and we had moved on to the interior design, in particular the kitchen. I thought that the kitchen would be installed by the end of May but I was overly optimistic.

It turned out that our kitchen designed required us to get the kitchen sink repositioned. After a few weeks being busy with work, we only managed to get a contractor to do the repositioning at the end of April. We also asked the contractor, Mr L, to put up a brick wall at part of our front fence and to paint the living room and all bedrooms. The decision to paint the walls was not in our initial plans but I felt that a white house looked kind off boring.

So, two weeks ago, I finally made up my mind on the colour scheme and we went to buy the paints. We decided to go with Ni*ppon Odour*less in Classic Silk (brownish beige) for the living plus dining room, Pink Camellias for Maisarah's room (this was her choice), Blue Trace for the guest room and Blue Trace with Parlour Blue feature wall for our room.

Anyway, the paint work is done. The front fence brick wall is up but our kitchen sink is yet to be repositioned correctly due to some miscommunication. I'm hoping it will be done by next Wednesday when our lights and fans are to be delivered and installed. Yup, we've bought our lights/fans at Ten*Gro Lighting in Pu*chong last Wednesday and we got 30% discount on all lights from the booking we made during the Home*dec Fair we attended last April.

And today, our master bathroom shower screen was installed. This was also bought during Home*dec. I'm really loving the shower screen! We also have got our windows measured so we'll be dropping by Baa*gus Curtains in Cheras soon to finalise our window dressings. Our last major work to be done is the kitchen. I'm now aiming for the cabinets and our wardrobe to be installed by mid July. Then we just need to get all furnitures and appliances in before we can move in. It sounds simple but you'll never know what else can happen.

So, I'm praying hard that there will be no more delays. Anyway, above are pictures of my shower screen (please ignore the dirt in the bathroom), a snapshot of the Pink Camellia walls in Maisarah's room and our Parlour Blue feature wall. I'll update more once our lights are installed. I can't wait for next Wednesday!
