Presents on Christmas Day

First things first, no I do not celebrate Christmas but I did receive 3 belated birthday presents yeaterday. I got a new brooch set from my mum and sister. And my darling husband, via the B-day fund, got me a new Sony Ericsson Z610i handphone, a Guess watch, 2 pairs of pants from Dorothy Perkins and a pair of shoes. I'm was such a happy bunny yesterday even though I was still slightly sick.

Initially I wanted a Motorola RKZR phone but after playing with the demo phone at the shop I decided against it. The reason being the Motorola RKZR menu icons looks very childish and inellegent..like it belongs in a toy phone. So unlikely its sleek, elegant exterior. The Sony Ericsson Z610i has the same specs/features as the RKZR plus it's a 3G phone. And it too has the shiny exterior like the RKZR. I wanted to get the pink version of the Z610i but it costs an extra RM300 more than the blue version. So thinking that I can use the RM300 for other B-day presents, I decided to get the blue version. Hence the 2 pairs of pants and 1 pair of shoes.

Anyway, the handphone and watch were 2 of the items I requested in the my B-Day fund presents list. I am very happy with what I got and I really am blessed for having such a loving and generous husband. So, to repay his kindness, I've got exactly 3 months till our anniversary and I better start saving loads of dosh to splurge on him.

Of Birthdays and Being Sick

Yesterday was my 27th birthday. I didn't do anything special but I did receive birthday wishes from family and friends. I guess the older you get birthdays are just like any other normal day. But I did receive the email below from a representative of the 'B-Day Fund':

Dear Dr. Anisa

Happy birthday from B-day Fund! Due to time constraint, the board of directors has agreed to postpone the present-giving ceremony to a later date, which is to be decided by you. The ceremony is to be held based on the following procedure:

1) Choose a date of your liking
2) Choose a shopping complex of your liking. You are advised to think carefully of your selection, as the quality of presents will depend on this.
3) Inform the B-day fund coordinator
4) On the chosen date, a representative of the B-day fund will escort you to the selected venue and bring you to the respective shops where you are allowed to choose your present. The amount of money, we regret, cannot be disclosed at this point but the representative will advise you when the limit is approached.

Note: This offer will expire 14 days from the date of this email.

Thank you and have a nice birthday,
B-day fund coordinator

So, what I've got to do now is chose a date and a place for me to receive my birthday presents. The place is easy, either One Ut*ma or Midv*lley but the time is a big problem. From now on weekends are all taken up by other activities. I'm hoping to go get the presents before the Year End Sale ends. Anyway, I'll certainly think of a way.

Now on to today, i.e. post-birthday. I am sick! I woke up with a terrible sore-throat and a slightly swollen right eye. Luckily the swelling on my eye-lid is not that obvious but it does irritate me, I think something must have bitten my eye last night while I was sleeping coz the swelling hurts a little. To add to that, the moment I stepped into my office, my nose started running and my eyes started watering. I guess this has to do with the temperature of the office which is getting colder by the day. They must have done something to the air conditioning system coz last week my office was quite hot. Anyway, by 10am I was not getting any better and I had to cancel my lecture. I was ready to go but I just could not stop sneezing and my nose kept watering. And now I've got a blocked nose. Luckily I didn't get sick on my birthday.

P/S: This weekend we'll be moving into the new apartment. We purposely postponed the move until the people from As*ro comes to move the dish to the new place. So the appointment with an As*tro technician has been set for tomorrow.

Moving Blues...

Shah and I have gotten approval from the Accommodation Unit to move into a bigger apartment for Senior Residents in one of the blocks here. So last weekend we arranged for some workers to help us move our furniture (bed, wardrobe, fridge, washing machine, dresser). This weekend we'll move the rest of the stuff which are small enough for Shah and I to manage by ourselves. Most importantly to I've got to arrange for As*ro to come and move our dish over to the new place. I'm quite excited to move as the new apartment will have 3 bedrooms, a huge living room + dining area and a proper kitchen, which is as big as our current master bedroom! So now we will be able to live much more comfortably. I just need to go on a shopping spree to decorate the new aparatment. Luckily the Year-End-Sale is on now.

P/S: My birthday is in 2 days...hehehehe!

The cycle begins again

Classes commmence next Tuesday and to tell you the truth I haven't been doing much preperation. Luckily I'm not teaching a new subject so basically I have all the notes prepared. I just need to do some modifications and prepare a teaching repository website so that I can just ask my students to get the notes from there. Basically, I've decided that I wont have much time running back and forth from the printing department to get their notes printed. Hence, the creation of the website where the students will have to download the notes and bring them to class. If they don't do so, then too bad. They'll have to copy it all down. Howevevr, I'm having some problems uploading things up on the site. I just hope I'll be able to get it all ready by next week.

I started off wanting to write more. But a movie has just started on TV and it's quite rare that As*ro shows a movie that I've never watched and interesting at the same time. So I'll write again soon. Bye!
